ShopGo is a receipt-based loyalty rewards app that turns everyday purchases into personalized cashback and deals.

The goal was to transform a promising but fragmented product into an experience that feels effortless, personal, and worth returning to.

Through competitor research, restructured flows, and intentional UI decisions, the redesign brought rewards, offers, and shop discovery into one cohesive experience — all built around reducing the friction and making rewards feel immediately accessible.

Context

ShopGo had 700 active users and 3 partner stores, but each store ran its own disconnected rewards system with no central place for users to track or use their rewards.

As the business set its sights on scaling across California, the app needed to evolve. The shoppers had rewards, but no real way to see them, understand them, or use them intuitively.

Redesigned homescreen for more visibility

The original homescreen buried offers below a large banner and scattered navigation across tabs users rarely needed. The redesign brought personalized offers front and center, tightened the visual hierarchy, and simplified navigation to surface the actions users actually came for.

Solved how rewards were utilized

The old redemption flow was a cluttered modal full of fine print; it created hesitation right at the moment of highest intent. The new flow breaks redemption into clear steps, leads with the real value of a user's points they earned, and ends with a satisfying confirmation that makes saving feel rewarding, clear, and intuitive.

Enhanced mobile experience with new features

Three new features were added to extend engagement beyond the point of purchase: a Favorites tab to bookmark preferred offers, a Partner Shop screen showing location-aware earning milestones, and a referral flow to drive organic growth. Each feature targets a feedback loop where users previously had no reason to return to the app.

Impact

ShopGo is now live and currently undergoing Beta testing. Since the redesign, the users have noted significant changes in their reward redeeming experience, along with the following wins for the business.
